Pannikin Coffee & Tea – Encinitas

Bite is a great place to go for small plates and some wine in Hillcrest, but I like the food much more. I’ve been several times and the waiters don’t seem very knowledgable about the wine selection or what would pair well, though they have good wine, it’s one of the places you need to know what you like ahead of time and make your own selection. Go for the food alone though and you won’t be disappointed. Grab a table outside if you like people watching – and there’s plenty of it to do in Hillcrest!

Hands down, the best coffee/breakfast/hangin out place in Encinitas. I always order the exact same thing: coffee and breakfast bagel with egg. Just get there early to beat the rush!

We went to Bacchus Wine Market when we were in San Diego visiting family to pick up some wine for dinner. First, it was a bit hard to find…there didn’t seem to be any signage outside on the building…just a sandwhich board on the street. But once we found it, and went downstairs, it was a great experience. I loved the layout (very open) and easy to browse and the staff was helpful too. I’d reccomend it for sure, I’d just give them a suggestion to add some more signage or open it up a bit to let people know where they are since it’s a great place.
