Customers are king at The Third Corner Wine Shop & Bistro in Encinitas. The small plates and big plates (as they are called) are solid, but the real star here is the wine. Reasonable prices and a great selection of over 1,000 wines plus the ability to browse wine racks mid-meal all add up to a unique dining experience at The Third Corner. The wine selection at the Encinitas location veers more toward big name producers, but the customers wouldn’t have it any other way. Patrons order bold Cabernets offered at retail prices and pay only a $5 corkage per bottle.
The Scene: With tables, couches, and a bar, 3rd Corner has a variety of casual settings and seating options. One of the only late night dining venues in North County, The 3rd Corner attracts a young and lively crowd on weekend nights.
Inclusion worthy noes: Did we mention that you can avoid hefty restaurant wine markups by purchasing a bottle at retail and paying the $5 corkage fee?
Reservations: recommended

I live in Encinitas and have been to the 3rd corner several times and always have a great time. I typically go in the evenings when it’s busier at the bar and lounge areas. The cool thing about this place is that it’s a wine bar/wine shops/lounge/restaurant – a little bit of everything all in one place which is cool for the area. the bar can get crowded, but there’s a ton of place to hang out there. Very chill and laid back too so a perfect fit for hte neighborhood. Check out the cellar in the back too.
